In 1900 my great grandfather, Dominick Lagravinese was born in Sammichele di Bari, Italy. He came to this country as a child with his parents shortly thereafter. In 1917 he began our great family tradition when he started working as a diamond setter. Our company began on Nassau Street in Manhattan and later moved to Midtown Manhattan under the name Empire Diamond Setting Co. My great grandfather passed on the family legacy to his 2 sons, Joseph and Robert. Joseph continued the manufacturing business and renamed it Radio City Jewelers. Robert, with his great personality and love for working with people, opened his first jewelry store in Westchester County, NY in 1964. My grandfather knew what it took to make people happy and enjoyed his work. Qualities that he possessed are not ones that can be learned or taught. It is because of his hard work, dedication, charisma, and heart that my entire family including myself has had the opporturnity to continue this great tradition. I hope to do my best to live up to the great expectations and very high standards that my grandfather has set for all of us.
